[討論] Cubs outlast Rox, keep pace in races
DENVER -- The Cubs evened the series with the Rockies on Saturday night at
Coors Field, trading leads through a turbulent nine innings and benefiting
from a 10-hit offensive surge and a solid six-plus innings from starter Ryan
Dempster before Chicago beat Colorado, 6-5.

The win kept the Cubs a game behind St. Louis in the National League Central
and two games behind San Francisco in the NL Wild Card.

After three scoreless innings, the Cubs broke through first with a taxing
inning against former Cub Jason Marquis in the fourth. Manager Lou Piniella
has been juggling all kind of lineup configurations in hopes of finding a
productive five-hole hitter, and after Derrek Lee took a hard-earned leadoff
walk and Aramis Ramirez struck out swinging, Kosuke Fukudome came up in the
five-hole and gave Piniella what he wanted with an RBI double into the
left-field corner to plate Lee and give the Cubs the early
lead. After Alfonso Soriano fouled out to first, Marquis walked three
straight Cubbies, with Dempster earning an RBI for his bases-loaded walk.

The Rockies bounced back immediately in the bottom of the inning, putting a
pair of leadoff hits together with an error on a hard-hit grounder to Ramirez
at third to load the bases with nobody out. Brad Hawpe knocked an RBI single
to left to score one run, and Ian Stewart's fielder's-choice grounder to Lee
plated the tying run. Stewart advanced to second on a wild pitch, and would
have been caught in his tracks had Geovany Soto's throw not pulled Ryan
Theriot off the bag. The next hitter, .150-hitting
Omar Quintanilla, slapped a two-run single into left to cap the four-run
rally.

Lee closed the gap with a solo shot over the right-field scoreboard in the
top of the fifth, and the Cubs went ahead in the sixth on a one-out triple to
center from Aaron Miles and a pair of RBI singles from Theriot and Milton
Bradley. Fukudome continued his productive night with a two-out blast into
the right-field seats to pad the lead in the seventh.

Dempster lasted six-plus innings, leaving the game after yielding a towering
leadoff homer to Clint Barmes in the bottom of the seventh. Dempster gave up
nine hits and five runs, two earned, while striking out three and walking
none.
蛋皮在被Barmes砲轟後退場，他撐了６局多，今天他被打９安掉５分只有２分自責並且

Theriot made a game-saving play in the bottom of the seventh, ranging deep
behind the bag to grab a Todd Helton grounder up the middle and backhanding a
throw to Miles to get the lead runner at second. His gem was followed by
another game-saver by Bradley, who leapt against the right-field scoreboard
to snare a Troy Tulowitzki drive that seemed destined to drive in the tying
run.
台小槍在七局下演出關鍵守備守住即將被Helton打穿中間防線的安打並順勢拋給Miles
