[閒聊] That Juan Pierre flair?
"He's going to find that hole between third and short and up the middle,
and that famous Juan Pierre flair is coming right around the corner,"
manager Dusty Baker said.
... That Juan Pierre flair?!
"I've never heard that before; that's the first time," Pierre said.
"What was he talking about?"
Baker was talking about Pierre's past flair for creating excitement and
igniting an offense out of the leadoff spot, not the flare to the outfield he
poked in the ninth inning Thursday.
"Oh, OK, but that's the first I heard about that one," Pierre said.
Pierre 目前得分7分, 僅次於 Lee 的9分, 但是 avg.235 opb.275 實在是不怎麼好看,
不過球季才剛剛開始, 我相信以後他對得分進帳來說還是很重要的。Dusty Baker 則說
皮耶沒什麼好擔心的, 只要天氣開始轉暖他就會打的更好。
皮耶還做了一個結論: 03年 WS 的馬林魚有他打 lead-off, 04 WS 紅襪有 Damon,
05 白襪有 Podsednik, 所以一個好的開路先鋒對打 WS 是很重要的。
