檸檬酸循環中間產物 Oxaloacetate 可由PEP carboxykinase催化產生PEP
而PEP可以用來進行醣新生。
lehninger課本中這段
However, as an examination of the stoichiometry of the citric acid cycle shows,
there is no net conversion of acetate to oxaloacetate; in vertebrates,
for every two carbons that enter the cycle as acetyl-CoA, two leave as CO2.
但在第一階段的檸檬酸循環中,acetyl-CoA的2個碳到Oxaloacetate依然存在
而由Oxaloacetate --> PEP ,2個碳也最多有1個碳變成CO2離開
理論上acetyl-CoA至少有部分轉換為PEP進行醣新生
課本上所述重點在於net(完整的)acetyl-CoA去產生碳水化合物嗎?
