But despite a refusal at the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford to sanction such a high wage packet for the Belgian, Hazard's agent, John Bico, claimed on Tuesday that discussions with all three clubs have taken place and that the player must now decide which package to accept. “We are no longer in the negotiations stage,” Bico said. “We have reached agreement with all parties. There will be no higher bid. Eden has already said he wants it to be fixed before June 2. He will decide after the Red Devils' (Belgium) games against Montenegro and England, then go on holiday with peace of mind.” Hazard confirmed his determination to move to the Premier League this summer after scoring a hat-trick in Lille's 4-1 victory against Nancy on Sunday. But the attacking midfielder has issued contradictory statements about his intentions, claiming initially to be moving to Manchester and then insisting he would play in light blue next season, prior to revealing an interest in playing for Chelsea in the wake of their Champions League final victory. Hazard's public pronouncements have led to disquiet at both City and United and it is understood that senior figures at City have made it clear that the player will only arrive at the Etihad if he accepts their ￡110,000-a-week offer. United have similar issues over Hazard's wage demands and the likely ￡35m-price tag that Lille are set to impose, but Chelsea are ready to outbid their rivals in order to win the race for a player regarded as one of Europe's rising stars.
