Chelsea are in a position to welcome back our own Arjen for Saturday's game but
Wigan Athletic are likely to be without their captain Arjan De Zeeuw.
The Dutch centre-back has not played since New Year's Day due to a toe injury.
Reports also suggest that defender Andreas Granqvist, their recent loan signing
from Sweden, will miss the game through illness.
Ecuadorian midfielder Antonio Valencia has a hamstring problem. Midfielder Paul
Scharner and striker Henri Camara are both recovering from knee surgery.
Short of numbers, Wigan manager Paul Jewell has called right-back Ryan Taylor
into his squad. Taylor has been out for a year with first a broken metatarsal
and then a broken leg.
