A New Year's Eve message from the chief executive

The following message from Chelsea Football Club chief executive
Peter Kenyon appears in the matchday programme for the game against
Birmingham:
The year 2005 has obviously been a fantastic one for Chelsea.

Our fans helped us celebrate in style the victories in the
Premiership, Carling Cup and FA Community Shield. Without your continued
support those achievements would not have been possible, so I would like
to thank you personally for that.

The team continues to play great football and goes into 2006 heading
the table again. We all hope for more glory in May.

Our on-the-field achievements have been recognised around the world
with various accolades, Jose Mourinho won World Manager of the Year, Frank
Lampard won Player of the Year and was runner-up in World Player of the
Year and our captain John Terry won PFA Player of the Year, to name but a
few. The key to all of these was that it was a team effort, and that is
very much the philosophy at the club.

Many challenges and new relationships lie ahead in 2006.

Our sponsorship with Samsung goes from strength to strength. The
first six months of the deal has already shown that it is a natural
partnership that will take us into a new era over the next 4 and a half
years. In the summer we will also be launching our new exciting
partnership with adidas. Until then we continue with Umbro who have been a
great sponsor down the years and our new Centenary home shirt is by far
the best seller we have ever had.

In the coming year we will continue to expand our community and
charitable programmes. We do a huge amount of work in this area because it
is the right thing to do, not for cheap publicity. Chelsea is in a
privileged position where it can make a difference through its profile and
resources and 2006 will see further moves in this area.

The club also strives to attain the highest standards in everything
we do, and that includes the service we provide to our fans. There will be
several new developments in terms of customer service in the coming months.
Our excellent staff at Chelsea are loyal, hard-working and committed to
seeing the club cement its position as number one off-the-field, as well
as on.
