But Boston doesn't have much roster flexibility to make significant changes, at least not easily. The Celtics have $58.5 million committed to six players next season, assuming Jermaine O'Neal comes back and Shaquille O'Neal retires (neither is certain). That's already over the NBA salary cap of $58 million, and it means the Celtics need to add players in a cost-effective way, possibly using a mid-level exception, a bi-annual exception, and veteran minimum contracts to fill out the roster. With that in mind, we examine some NBA free agents who could be good fits in Boston. ===================================================== 1.Samuel Dalembert, C Think the Celtics could use a young, athletic center? Dalembert (8.1 points, 8.2 rebounds for Sacramento this season) is a shot-blocker and rebounder who could fit in perfectly with the kind of defense the Celtics want to play. A lot of teams need centers, and Dalembert is one of the top free agents available at the position. He might be out of the Celtics' price range unless he takes less to come to Boston or the Celtics free up some money with a trade. 能抓籃板能打火鍋,偶爾能投個中距離,機動力高,但是應該不是我們能負擔的起... At 6-feet-8-inches, he's a hybrid small forward in the Jeff Green mode. As a Clipper in 2008-2009, Thornton averaged a career high 16.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in his second season in the league, but he's been on two different teams since then. In 49 games with the Wizards last year he averaged 8 points and 3.1 rebounds. He also played for Golden State in 2010-11. 不太熟,進攻似乎OK,但是防守未知,不過我們應該會留Green... Should the Celtics target Al Thornton? Yes 25.62% No 74.38% -- NO Total Votes: 8,752 ======================================================= 3.Carl Landry, PF Not to keep comparing potential future Celtics to current or former Celtics, but Carl Landry is an undersized power forward in the Glen Davis mold. The players' heights relative to their position are where the similarities end, though. The 6-foot-9-inch Landry is a natural scorer, averaging 15.8 points and five rebounds for the Hornets in this year's playoff series vs. the Lakers. Smith, SG For all the grief the Celtics got for trading Kendrick Perkins, it was the team's offense that really let them down when it mattered most. Smith would change that. He's a shooter without conscience, someone who can pull up from 30-feet and have it be a good shot if he's feeling it. The Nuggets shooting guard made 163 3-pointers last year at a rate of 39 percent. But Hill and his family were comfortable in Phoenix, and Hill's health has never been better than his last few seasons with the Suns. He missed the first 24 games, played seven, missed one, played one, missed 19, played eight more, missed three, played two, and then missed the final 17 games of the season. Whew. Howard's always had borderline All-Star talent when healthy. The Celtics aren't making Kwame Brown the No. 1 pick. Michael Jordan did in Washington. So what if that didn't pan out? Brown averaged 7.9 points and 6.8 rebounds last year for the Bobcats and made $1.2 million. After playing just 19 minutes per game in 25 games in Phoenix at the end of last season, Brooks, who started 2010-11 in Houston, could use a change of scenery. Hawes is a restricted free agent and has a qualifying offer of $4 million, meaning the Sixers can match an offer by another team. At first glance that price tag seems a bit high. He averaged 14.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season on a bad team, and he's too good a player to waste away his final years in Detroit. Still, how great would it be to see Chandler on the other end of some of those alley-oop passes by Rajon Rondo (think Kevin Garnett in 2007). At 7-feet-1-inch, Chandler is a big-time player (10.1 points, 9.4 rebounds), and he could soon be an NBA champion. It's unlikely Dallas lets him get away, and even so, the Celtics would definitely need to free up some money (sign-and-trade?) to bring him on board. 小牛會放人嗎??? If he exercises it this is a moot point, but Hollins might seek more money elsewhere. The Celtics may or may not have that money to offer depending on how the pieces fall, but the 7-foot Hollins could be a young rising star in the middle after coming on strong during the last part of the season in Cleveland. 對他的感覺就是...一個很愛跳的跳跳中鋒... The lanky 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard can score at will, averaging 15.4 points for the Atlanta Hawks in this year's playoffs. Crawford will demand mid-level exception money at the very least, so the Celtics would need to make him the biggest piece of their offseason plans if they really want him. 搶分能力一把罩...但是防守不佳...不是很喜歡他就是... Yes 65.84% No 34.16% -- NO Total Votes: 6,924 ========================================================== 14.Greg Oden, C The Celtics lost the chance to possibly draft Oden with one of the top two picks in the 2007 NBA Draft, and, boy, are they better off for it. Oden has been as injury prone as a player can possibly be in the early part of his career, playing in only 82 games over four seasons after being selected No. 1 overall. There's no question he's talented, and Portland has first dibs at Oden as a restricted free agent. If the Blazers pass, the Celtics could be one of many interested teams lining up to take a shot at Oden. 就算阿拓肯放,他應該也是別隊爭相搶奪目標吧...健康的話有一定實力雖然是個犯規大王...還是說肯拿底薪來我們打個一季抬升身價呢XD Should the Celtics target Greg Oden? The eight-year pro ruptured his right patellar tendon Jan. 1 and has been out since. His $10 million comes off the books after this season. That's too high a price, but Butler's tenacious defense and scoring ability would fit well in Doc Rivers's system. 相較於J.Howard,健康的他我覺得還比較好些~小牛需要他的程度也不是很高~ 或許有點機會吧~不錯的小前鋒 Should the Celtics target Caron Butler? Yes 61.69% -- YES No 38.31% Total Votes: 6,421 ========================================================== 16.Kenyon Martin, PF He doesn't fit the young and athletic mold, but Denver's Kenyon Martin is a veteran scorer, rebounder, and shot-blocker who can make an impact on a contending team. Martin made $16 million last season. He won't get that this season, but the mid-level exception is a possibility somewhere. The Celtics need to get younger, but they've proven in the past that signing veterans to an already good team can pay off. 個人覺得他防守算是被低估了...當然啦就只是防守,進攻很不穩定...但是籃板還不差相較於以前,受傷是少了些,但也有些年紀~ Should the Celtics target Kenyon Martin? Yes 37.27% -- YES No 62.73% Total Votes: 6,501 ========================================================== 17.Yao Ming, C OK this one's a stretch as well. Like Oden, there's some question as to whether Yao, a 7-6 center who has spent his entire NBA career in Houston, can ever play again. When healthy, he's one of the best centers in the league, but Yao may never return to that form after sitting out most of this season with a stress fracture in his ankle. It's possible Yao's body doesn't allow him to play NBA basketball again. It's also possible that he's able to return to the court and accepts a smaller role with a contending team.
