Report: Grizzlies eyeing Bulls' Nocioni By: Bob Finnan http://0rz.tw/ad2PS It appears as if the Memphis Grizzlies are poised to make a significant offer to a restricted free agent big man. Many observers assumed that offer would go to Cavaliers forward/center Anderson Varejao. But wait. Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace is reportedly in Argentina - or on his way - and might be targeting Bulls forward Andres Nocioni. 灰熊GM Wallace現正在阿根廷，或是在途中，可能把目標放在公牛的Nocioni。 They want to re-sign Varejao. But this morning I read about new Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace in South America to meet with Andres Nocioni. It may be the Grizzl ies after Varejao, it may not be. Maybe it is from a team that wants to do a sign-and-trade with the Cavs. It may be that there is no offer and there’ s posturing going on. But I know what is being put out there and so I repo rted it. Let me just add two points here: Even if it is overpaying a little, we re someone actually able to sign Varejao to a deal that averaged $7-$8 mil lion per season, the feel is the Cavs would likely match. Athletic big men are hard to find and Varejao is a potential long-term replacement for Zydr unas Ilgauskas. If it gets to $10 million a season, then it’s a different story. Secondly, with Darko Millcic becoming an unrestricted free agent to day, the game totally changes. Darko is younger and has more upside, espec ially on offense, than Varejao. With no restricted status to deal with, he may become more attactive than Varejao all of a sudden. Also, Darko has the same agent, Marc Cornstein, as Sasha Pavlovic. So with all this stuff going on, and with Cornstein spewing venom at the Magi c (and it sounds like he’s got a point) Pavlovic is on the back burner fo r now. It seems having Pavlovic back is a large priority for Danny Ferry, so his contacts of players like Morris Peterson, Matt Carroll and the like are probably backup plans if Sasha talks go poorly. 間單的說： 1.消息來源跟溫胖子說有人開offer給大V，但沒講是不是灰熊。 2.灰熊GM往阿根廷去了，溫胖子認為灰熊目標可能轉移到Nocioni（這點他跟廢男兩人看法一致） 3.溫胖子認為提出offer的球隊可能想跟騎士來個sigh & trade，也有可能根本是空穴來風，只是試試騎士的態度。 4.他認為就算價碼稍稍超過一點，例如七百萬開頭的數字，騎士多半還是會match大V。 5.對於米粒投入FA市場，溫胖子認為這是騎士利多，因為米粒更有潛力也更會進攻，大 V的身價可能會跌（明顯跟廢男看法不同，溫胖不考慮騎士會不會去追米粒） 6.由於米粒與魔術的關係似乎弄得有點僵，而他的經紀人剛好跟Sasha是同一個，騎士或許能把握機會趁現在經紀人忙著處理大客戶時趕緊跟Sasha談約。 =========================================================================== Rumor mill - Sources say the Cavs were having much trade dialogue with other teams Tue sday.
