Since initial reports of the Cardinals’ hacking into the Houston Astros database came out more than a year and a half ago, the principal actor, former Cardinals employee and Scouting Director Chris Correa, has been sentenced to multiple years in prison. The punishment for the Cardinals’ organization has now been set as well: 長達幾個月的調查結束後，結果出來了，故事是一年半前爆發的駭客事件，前球探長 Chris Correa要去坐快四年的牢，而對紅雀球團的懲罰則是丟掉今年的前兩輪選秀簽 (分別是#56跟#75)，並且要在30天內付出兩百萬美元的罰金。而簽跟罰金則歸太空人隊所有。 The Cardinals will lose the first two picks in this year’s draft (#56 and #75), and they will be fined $2 million. Both the picks and the fine will head to Houston, per Derrick Goold. The Cardinals have already forfeited their first round pick due to signing Dexter Fowler. The 56th pick in the draft was the Cardinals second round pick, and the 75th pick was the Cardinals supplemental pick for being in a smaller market. According to Baseball America, the 56th pick has a slot value of $1,122,400 and the 75th pick has a slot value of $730,800. 既然今年已經因為簽下Dexter Fowler而失去了首輪簽，這次被罰的是56順位的次輪簽跟75順位的小市場補償簽(每次總版提紅鳥都會被提出來酸一陣的東西)，兩個順位的 Slot分別是$1,122,400跟$730,800。 Before the penalties were announced, the Cardinals already had the second-lowest amount of pool money to spend on the draft at just under $4 million. These penalties will reduce the Cardinals’ pool money to $2,072,300. The team is also currently above the penalty amount for international spending so beginning on July 2 of next season, they will not be allowed to sign any international amateur for more than $300,000. 這個數字到底怎麼看？去年紅雀的pool是超過9M的。而也不要忘記因為上一季簽國際球員簽爆了，所以在下個球季末開始的海外球員簽約金全部不能超過30萬美金。 (也順便提一下，2M的slot差不多就等於30順位，今年是小熊的這一隻簽的slot) The $2 million fine is an expected punishment, while many speculated that the Cardinals could lose draft picks as part of a punishment. While losing draft picks is a fairly harsh punishment, it is an equitable one, as the team wronged in this case will receive the picks as well as the important bonus pool money that goes along with them. 2M的罰金其實是可預期的，而之前也有許多風聲跟報導顯示紅雀可能會丟掉選秀簽，當然對球隊來說丟掉前段選秀權還是個滿重的罰則，不只是簽本身，pool money也隨之而去。 (從一年前開始就有文章指出紅雀很可能會被拔選秀權，紅雀對此做出的對應是在今年的國際簽約中先大撒特撒一波避免農場空虛，對於考慮Fowler的簽約與否也有影響。) Buster Olney recently reported that many executives around the game felt the Cardinals must be dealt a severe blow given the hacking and spying that occurred, which included Chris Correa repeatedly accessing the Astros’ computers to gain competitive information that could have proved very useful to the Cardinals, especially as it related to the draft. 不少高層(?)覺得紅雀應該在這次事件中付出更慘痛的代價，為的不外乎Correa偷了太空人的重要資訊，尤其這些重要且有用的資訊是跟選秀有關的。 (結果你____選了個Marco Gonzales，搞屁啊) Correa, in a ruling that pales in comparison to the punishment leveled by the state, has been placed on the permanently ineligible list, so he can’t work in baseball. Correa’s jail sentence should serve as deterrent enough for anyone contemplating such espionage in the future. His prison sentence likely brings to light the serious nature of hacking an opponent. 當然這次事件中最慘的還是Correa本人，首先終生不得從事棒球相關活動，再者還得去蹲快四年的苦牢，這個判例也會影響到未來駭進競爭對手資料庫的相關案例。 I wrote back in July, that those calling for particularly harsh penalties were doing so not out of competitive fairness, but out of a desire to see the Cardinals organization, and their relatively pristine reputation, take a massive hit. This punishment should appease those looking for a fair punishment for the Cardinals’ actions as well as those who just want to see the Cardinals knocked down a peg. 這次的懲罰應該可以安撫不少想要看紅雀實力被削弱的人。 (嗯...?) The Cardinals don’t lose a first round choice, but the choices they do lose probably have some value close to one first round pick at the back of the first round where the Cardinals have typically selected. The $2 million to the Astros is roughly the amount the team believed its stolen property was worth. 雖然沒有因此被拔掉首輪簽，但是兩隻簽的pool加起來其實也差不多是一隻首輪簽了 (不過價值還是比不上一隻首輪)，而2M的罰金則作為補償太空人在事件中所損失的資產。順便提一下，在當前的CBA中2M是單一罰金的上限，所以是罰到上限不能再高了。 In the short term, this will really hurt the Cardinals draft in 2017. They won ’t pick until the third round just a year after having three first round picks, and will have little to no room to maneuver signing bonuses around to take overslot players. Correa hasn’t been with the team in quite some time, and no other employees have been implicated so the loss in talent to the front office is minimal. This has clearly been an embarrassing situation for the Cardinals, and these penalties should put an end to the story so that all parties can move forward. 長期來看，是暫時不會影響到大聯盟層級，過幾年會比較沖淡這些影響沒錯，但是實質上還是滿痛的。在球探系統方面，Correa已經一段時間沒有幫球隊工作了，這次是屬於他的個人行為，所以沒有其他人受到影響。以下個人心得首先我覺得J-Mo發表的聲明...並不是特別好，尤其Correa是他決定要雇用的人，對於選擇了這樣一個糟糕而且做出這種對球隊有負面影響的決策的人，他該負些責任但是他沒有對此說些什麼。另外，2M給太空人無所謂，但是實在不能理解兩隻簽都給太空人的意義，Luhnow應該比現在在紅雀球探系統裡面的人聰明個三倍吧，這兩隻簽我還滿相信又會變成太空人未來倚重的戰力，實在是不太希望這樣，我覺得簽直接沒收比較合理一點。至於這罰則到底重不重？現在風向很亂。2M是罰則上限所以沒什麼好討論的，選秀簽跟 Pool的價值加起來頂多就10M多一些，但是他還是選秀簽，今年想必是選不到什麼高天花板的球員了，最高最高就到Paul DeJong之流吧？明年農場系統還是有機會衝上Top 5，可是今年就別期待除了海外的簽約之外有什麼好貨。關於選秀簽的事情，即使今年被拿走的真的是前兩輪的簽，最後簽了Fowler那結果也是一樣的，紅雀都是少掉前三隻簽，不會因為這件事情有所改變，但如果提前知道罰則細項的話...我覺得紅雀說不定會更積極的去追Justin Turner、Edwin Encarnacion等球員。從大聯盟的角度來看，考慮點是： 1.給予得利方(紅雀隊、Correa)懲罰 2.給予受害方(太空人隊)補償 3.如何避免任何類似情況發生對於1.跟2.的部分上面都已經提完了，由於是第一次類似案件需要警惕作用所以該重罰、但因為調查顯示Correa是單獨犯案沒有與他人共享資訊所以該輕判，等等的論點在各家文章中都提過了，在此不贅述。至於3.的部分，如果風險是四年的牢獄之災外加一輩子不能接觸棒球相關事務，恐怕已經足以警惕每個想要仿效的人了。然後，沒有然後了，第一次在雀版翻文章，有任何問題請不吝指正。延伸閱讀：覺得罰不夠重組： Ken Rosenthal http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/cardinals-deserved-far-worse-punishment-from-mlb-after-hacking-astros-013017 Jeff Sullivan http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-cardinals-got-off-light-for-the-astros-hack/ 覺得罰很重組：所有紅雀相關的網站順便提一下太空人的法顧Giles Kibbe好像覺得差不多 https://twitter.com/BenReiter/status/826161196491501572 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 111.184.36.34 ※ 文章網址: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/Cardinals/M.1485879290.A.BC4.html
