Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a penalty as the European XI coached
by Marcello Lippi fell 4-3 to Manchester United in a match to
celebrate the European Union's 50th anniversary.
The Old Trafford side certainly dominated the first half,
going into the break 4-1 up with Wayne Rooney bagging a brace.
主隊上半場就以４－１領先，Rooney進兩球。
Wes Brown tapped in from close range and Cristiano Ronaldo curled
in a free kick, but Florent Malouda hit the back of the net for
the European XI with a left-foot strike.
Brown小禁區搞進一球，Ronaldo定位球直接進門，
不過 Malouda為歐洲全明星隊追回一球。
Inter forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic had the opportunity to make it 3-2,
but missed a penalty for the second time this season, hitting it on to
the crossbar. He had also wasted from the spot against Roma in Serie A
this term.
Ibrahimovic有過把比數改寫為３－２的機會，不過他把點球罰在橫樑上沒進，
這是他本季第二度罰丟點球，第一次是義甲對 Roma的比賽。
Lippi's star-studded squad staged a valiant fightback in the second half,
with substitute El-Hadji Diouf's header and his spot-kick.

Among the other familiar faces to Serie A viewers in the all-stars were
Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Materazzi, Amantino Mancini, Andrea Pirlo and
Gennaro Gattuso.
A crowd of 74,343 packed out the historic stadium to mark
Manchester United's 50 years in European competition and
a total of ￡1.25m was raised for charity.

Lippi still unsure of future

Marcello Lippi has admitted that he may have to spend the summer
fishing given a lack of job offers.
The tactician has been out of work since leaving the Italian national post
after World Cup glory and although he's keen to return,
that is proving to be problematic.
“As it stands, it is likely that I will be spending the summer on the beach
and not at some club's training camp,” he told La Repubblica.
Lippi說：「如你所見地，看來我的夏天會待在海邊而不是某家球會的集訓營。」
“I want to start a new job only when there are the right conditions for me
to work at my best and those conditions do not exist right now.”
「惟有在狀況適合我的時候我才打算開始一份新的工作，這些條件此刻並不存在。」
Lippi has been linked with a number of big European clubs,
but his experience in charge of a European XI at Old Trafford last night
has highlighted a key problem.

但是昨晚在ＯＴ執教歐洲全明星隊的經驗突顯了一個關鍵問題。
“The main issue is the language,” added Lippi. “I had Gianluca Vialli
to assist me with English, but perhaps it would be better to avoid
foreign outfits.”
Lippi說：「主要的問題在於語言，在英文方面我有 Vialli的協助，
但是或許避免執教國外的球隊會比較好。」
Nevertheless, Lippi enjoyed the experience of briefly working again
with his World Cup heroes such as Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Materazzi,
Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso on Tuesday.
不過 Lppi又短暫享受到跟他的世界盃隊員們共事的經歷，
包括了 Zambrotta、Materazzi、Pirlo、Gattuso。
“It was great to be there, my only regret is that we had called-up
30 players and only 13 answered the call,” explained the tactician.
他說：「能在這裡太好了，我惟一的遺憾是我們徵召的３０人只有１３人回覆。」
“I was very happy to see the Azzurri, we have been in contact over
the past few months, but it is always a pleasure to see them.
「我很高興能看到義大利國家隊成員，我們過去幾個月都有聯絡，
但是能看到他們總是很令人開心。」
“They are great lads and we had an unforgettable experience together.”
「他們都是好傢伙，我們共同有過一段難以忘懷的經歷。」
Turning to domestic matters, Lippi has insisted that Serie A is still
a League to be respected despite its difficulties over recent times.
談到國內，Lippi堅持義甲仍是個應該受到尊敬的聯賽，儘管近來有許多困境。
“Inter are dominating and they will win a well-deserved Scudetto,”he added.
「Inter控制了局面，他們將贏得理所當然的聯賽冠軍。」
“They also proved to be stronger than Valencia in the Champions League,
they were only eliminated because of a goal conceded at home and
that was a pity.
「他們也在歐冠證明了自己比 Valencia強大，

“Milan instead are at ease in the Champions League, that is their
natural habitat, while Roma were impressive and gave a footballing lesson
to the French [Lyon]…
