Diphtheria 白喉
Infectious agent 致病原：
Corynebacterium diphtheriae of gravis, mitis, or intermedius biotype.
白喉棒狀桿菌，依毒性強弱分為厚重型、輕型、中型三種
exotoxin. 白喉棒狀桿菌分泌外毒素
Occurrence 發生情形：
A disease of colder months in temperate zones, 一般在溫帶地區常發生於冬季
unimmunized children under 15years of age 十五歲以下缺乏免疫力之兒童
Endemics season are Fall (October, November, December). 流行季節是秋天
Reservoir 傳染窩
Man. 唯一的帶菌者是人
Mode of transmission 傳染方式
Air droplets transmission. 飛沫傳染
Contact with patient or carrier. 接觸病人、帶菌者
raw milk 未處理的牛奶
Incubation period 潛伏期
Usually 2~5 days, occasionally longer. 一般是2-5天，有時更長
Period of communicability 可傳染期
Usually 2 weeks or less and seldom more than 4 weeks. 通常是二週，很少會超過四
週
The rare chronic carrier may shed organisms for 6 months or more.
慢性帶菌者散播病原可達六個月以上
Susceptibility and resistance 感受性及抵抗力

DPT 白喉、百日咳、破傷風三合一疫苗
