February 14, 2009, 9:59 AM New Glove for Wang, Same Beard for C.C. By TYLER KEPNER There aren’t a whole lot of stylistic changes when it comes to the Yankees. They’re not going to add an alternate jersey or a two-tone batting helmet anytime soon. But every year there are subtle changes, like Chien-Ming Wang’s Nike baseball glove. Wang showed off his new glove, which includes a giant Chinese character for his name that covers the outer webbing. Wang, who is from Taiwan, said it was Nike’s idea, and he likes it. There is also the predictable facial hair trimming, with Joba Chamberlain ’s winter goatee gone and Brian Bruney cutting his long hair in the back. But C.C. Sabathia has kept his beard. Nobody’s asked him to trim it, he said, so it remains.
