under win2k.
and same goes to many other hardwares ...
the driver is an issue for win2k and if you
have these devices. but these problem will
be addressed slowly with the official release
of win2k.
* software compability
many games / apps / other softwares are
not working fully / at all due to the fact
NT's architect is really different from
win98 from root although they share the
same WIN32 API. The stronger memory protection
under NT broken many apps especially games.
and the support of unicode and input method are
broken in various apps which didn't not have
support for them in mind.

win2k is designed as a business platform
in mind, and I would say it has done
a great job. the leap in stability from
windows98 to win2k really worth the loss
in compability. and the compability will improve
over time eventually. win2k WAS intended to be
a universal solution for windows platform ...
but MS has reconsidered their strategy on this
and canceled the consumer version of win2k,
instead, the win98 third edition codenamed Millenium
will be the next upgrade for home users/gamers not
win2k, that's why the debute of win2k isn't all
sensational and a bigger event than the debute
of windows95 back in late 1995.
I really advised you guys to keep a partition
of windows98 while upgrading to win2k ...
then WORK on win2k PLAY on win98 ...
that's how MS design the products and
I think it is a good idea to follow it
just to make your life easier.
