本來在美國西岸發展，發過一兩張EP和Mini Album。
後來搞不出什麼名堂，三四年前選擇落腳NYC。
後來在NYC巧遇貴人The DFA(Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy)，
The DFA為紐約Disco-Punk Scene的重要推手，
經過他們改造加上The Rapture原本就有走紅的本錢，
新專輯Echoes還未推出已經被紐約當地傳媒炒翻了。
預料今年年終榜少不了這個名字。
The Rapture的音樂簡單講就是受到幾個美國Indie大團的強烈影響，
尤其是Sonic Youth，Gang of Four，Fugazi。
再加上這兩年由The Strokes帶起的一波New York Punk Revival風潮，
The Rapture順理成章加入這個體系。
這個體系之下同時還有Radio 4，Interpol，The Walkmen，Longwave，Liars等。
The Rapture玩得比較像Radio 4，也就是所謂的Disco-Punk，
其實這不過又是個複合的音樂形容詞，但我覺得還滿貼切的。
基本上Punk該有的特色都保留了，只是節奏感變得更強烈，
Bass和鼓的走勢突出，吉他的角色被淡化。
像不像Disco見仁見智，有時也滿Funky的，
這種音樂不以旋律見長，一首歌如能讓你提振精神，耳朵一開，
就算是成功。
就這點而言The Rapture做得滿成功的，難怪會紅。
