Slugger likely to miss series vs. Marlins due to left shoulder
ATLANTA -- Andruw Jones was out of the lineup in Tuesday's home opener and will
likely remain on the bench during Atlanta's entire three-game series against
Florida
ATLANTA--安豬不會在星期二的主場戰的打線中出現，而且可能對上碼大魚的三連戰中都會
呆在板凳上
Jones was expected to be ready to make the start on Tuesday, but arrived at the
ballpark still bothered by his left shoulder, which has kept him out of the
lineup since Friday. The Atlanta center fielder has been experiencing spasms in
the shoulder that have now also begun to push on his lungs and subsequently
affect his breathing.

Though Jones said the spasms are subsiding, he asked manager Bobby Cox for a

for the first two games of the series and possibly the third, depending on how
much improvement Jones shows.

The injury comes at an inopportune time for Jones, who was on an offensive tear
before being sidelined. Since the All-Star break, Jones had gone 11-for-29 with
four home runs in seven games. His 13 RBIs during that span had pushed his
season total to 88, which has him tied with Houston's Lance Berkman for the
league lead.

he was ready to start on Tuesday, but the Atlanta manager decided to play on
the safe side and give his starting third baseman one more day to rest.

Jones has been slowed by a left oblique muscle that he strained during the
first inning of Friday's game in Philadelphia. He wasn't expected to be ready
to crack the starting lineup until the end of the week, but was encouraged
after taking a solid round of batting practice in the indoor cages before
Tuesday's game.
