Marquinhos joins Fluminense on loan

Marquinhos has joined Brazilian top-flight side Fluminense on loan until
January 2025.
Our 20-year-old forward has recently returned from France, where he spent
the first half of the season on loan with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes.
In recent weeks, the Brazilian youth international has been in Venezuela
representing his under-23 national team in the 2024 CONMEBOL pre-Olympic
Tournament.
Marquinhos will be joining the reigning Copa Libertadores champions, who
won the prestigious South American trophy for the first time in their
history when they defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 back in November 2023.
The predominantly left-sided forward announced himself to Gunners
supporters by scoring a fine goal on his debut in our 2-1 away win over FC
Zurich in our opening Europa League match of the 2022/23 campaign, having
arrived from Sao Paulo the previous summer. During his time with us,
Marquinhos also had a spell on loan in the Championship with Norwich City
last season.
Everyone at the club wishes Marquinhos all the best for his loan spell
with Fluminense and look forward to seeing his continued development.
The loan deal is subject to regulatory processes.
