A postdoctoral research position is available beginning April 1st in
Dr. Chao-Yin Chen’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology,
School of Medicine, UC-Davis. Dr. Chen’s research focuses on central
regulation of cardiovascular function and how this regulation is altered
in response to environmental factors such as exercise, stress, exposure
to air pollution, hypertension and obesity. This research position will
be supported by an NIH R01 to study Mechanisms underlying secondhand
smoke-induced cardiovascular dysfunction. The goals of the project are to
systematically investigate 1) the concentration- and time-dependent changes
in neuroplasticity of cardiac vagal neurons and cardiac electrical properties
underlying secondhand exposure-induced autonomic dysfunction and 2) the
contribution of inflammation, cardiac autonomic nervous system, and cardiac
remodeling in secondhand exposure-induced cardiovascular dysfunction.
【徵才條件】
Successful candidates are expected to participate in experimental design,
data collection, analysis and interpretation, and preparation of oral and
written scientific reports. Highly motivated individuals with a strong
background in whole-cell patch-clamp techniques and/or the use of conscious
animal models are encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin
