Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Bunning died overnight at the age of 85, thePhiladelphia Philliesannounced Saturday.
Bunning pitched for theDetroit Tigers, Phillies,Pittsburgh PiratesandLos Angeles Dodgersovr a 17-year career from 1955 to 1971. The nine-time All-Star was selected to the Hall in 1996 by the Veteran's Committee.
17年的生涯共效力過老虎 費城人 海盜 道奇（1955～1971），曾九度入選明星賽，在1996年進入名人堂。
退休後曾任費城人小聯盟教練。
After his playing career, Bunning turned to politics. He served six terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and two terms in the U.S. Senate.
結束棒球生涯後，轉往政壇發展。
六度眾議院議員，兩度參議院議員。

1958/07/20 對波士頓紅襪隊投出無安打比賽。
1959/08/02 對紅襪隊後援一局送出三個三振，成為美聯第六位，全聯盟第十位完成9球三個三振的投手。
1964/06/21 對紐約大都會隊於大都會隊主場投出完全比賽，史上第七場，全場使用90球。
1971/09/03 於費城人隊退休，結束17年的棒球生涯，轉戰政治圈。
2001 背號14號列入費城人隊退休背號。
