紐西蘭航空:已將Skycouch授權給某亞太籍航空業者,
惟基於雙方保密協定,在2014年前將不得透露誰是對方業者.
紐航順便提到, 身為全球最早接收787-9 的航空公司,也將裝設Skycouch 於787-9 上.

Airline licensing deal for Kiwi designed Skycouch

Air New Zealand has signed a deal licensing its Skycouch seat product to a
large airline based in Asia.
This is the first licensing agreement for the Skycouch and follows the expiry
of the exclusivity period Air New Zealand adopted at the launch of the
revolutionary new product in 2011.
The Skycouch is a row of three economy seats that together adapt to create a
flat flexible space to stretch out and relax in. It was developed as part of
a three year innovation process to re-invent the longhaul flying experience.
Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Christopher Luxon says the Skycouch
has really stood Air New Zealand apart from other airlines.
"We took a deliberate decision to keep the product exclusive to our own
customers initially and families in particular have really appreciated the
extra space and flexibility it offers. In fact we’re so pleased with the
performance of the Skycouch, we're including 14 Skycouch rows on our new
787-9 aircraft arriving mid next year.";
Mr Luxon says the time is now right to commercialise this opportunity with
other international airlines. "We're pleased to have signed this first
agreement and we're continuing to talk with other airlines about further
licensing agreements."
Under the confidentiality terms of the licensing agreement Air New Zealand is
not able to name the Asian-based carrier until next year.

若華航的77W 同時裝設 Skycouch (經濟艙), 及 Spaceseat (豪經艙),
那長榮就真的有理由剉著等了.旅客也不見得只注意到狹窄的3-4-3 了.
當然, 華航的77W豪經艙應該不太可能再使用紐航的Spaceseat, Skycouch 及 Spaceseat
都是紐西蘭航空的專利設計產品, 都要付出為數不詳的licnesing fee.
況且,華航也公佈了豪經艙的椅距等資料, 若要追求 350-seat 的目標的話,
那就不太可能再擺 Spaceseat 了.
題外話, Spaceseat 設計理念是基於一種 輕量化商務艙衍生概念, 它們自稱是
Business Lite, 而非傳統的Economy Plus- 也就是在經濟艙產品上要再附加多少,如椅距

華航只有10台77W, 而且可能都是全為租賃 (看來CI 有意把77W 視為Interim
過渡到下一代之間的產品).
因此,裝了Skycouch 應該差不多是極限了, 畢竟可能每座還要付不詳的授權費.

華航的77W中,已確認4架是租自GECAS, 原剩下自購的6架,現在也打算改營業租賃了.
這代表77W 將會只是過渡產品, 約用了12年後就會退出華航機隊了.

航空公司不見得每一種機型都要自己引入模擬機.
你看長榮的MD-90, Dash-8 用那麼久了, 也是沒有自己的模擬機.
就看外面那裡可以租賃使用, 就去那裡用. 當然,使用外面的模擬機,也是要民航局
實地查核核可才算數.
