Prof. Kenneth Pomeranz應邀擔任史語所2006年「新史學講座」
「新史學講座」係由《新史學》雜誌社捐助史語所所設置，今年特邀請美國藝術
與科學院院士、加州大學Irvine分校歷史系Prof. Kenneth Pomeranz（彭慕蘭教授）擔任
講座。彭教授主要研究領域為中國及東南亞地區社會史，主要著作有The Making of a
Hinterland: State, Society and Economy in Inland North China,1853-1937.(UC
Press,1993)、The Great Divergence: China、Europe and the Making of the Modern
World Economy, (Princeton University Press, 2000; 中文版《大分流：中國、歐洲、
與現代世界經濟的形成》，巨流圖書公司出版，2004)。這兩本書分別於1994及2000年獲
得費正清東亞研究最佳著作獎、美國史學會獎。彭教授此次應邀來院，將於史語所文物館
5樓會議室舉行一場演講及一場座談。
