During the years that I finished this book, my daughter, Sandhya, left
home to start a life of her own (wondering why her father never wrote
that book he kept talking about), and my son, Ishan, was born, survived
two long hospital stays in his first year, and learned the function of
the delete key before his first word. Even when I have been most consumed
by the writing of this book, both have done their best to remind me of
the important things in life.
