[徵才] 代po USDC postdoc epigenetics & cancer
A postdoctoral fellow position is available after September, 2021 in the
laboratory of Dr. Jia-Ray Yu, located at the Virginia Tech Center for Cancer
Research in the newly established Research & Innovation Campus of Children’s
National Medical Center in Washington DC. We are interested in the
fundamental mechanisms of how epigenetic and chromatin dysregulation
contribute to the oncogenic states in cancer (Lee and Yu et al, Mol Cell; Lee
and Yu et al, G&D; Yu et al, G&D; Yu et al, Sci Adv). Our approach integrates
biochemical & reconstituted systems, mass-spectrometry, next-generation
sequencing, and molecular/cell biology tools.
Postdoctoral trainees will have opportunities to work with interdisciplinary
research groups with expertise in chemical biology, structural biology,
single-molecule imaging, or preclinical animal models from Virginia Tech,
Children’s National, and institutions within the metro Washington DC area,
such as the NIH. The lab supports postdoctoral trainees for having a healthy
work and life balance in the culturally vibrant metro Washington DC area.
Applicant profile:
A PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, genetics, molecular
biology, cell biology, cancer biology or broadly related fields.
Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques such as cloning, basic
molecular/cell biology and tissue culture techniques.
Experience in protein purification, biochemical assays, or human
pluripotent/neural stem cell culture is preferred but not required.
To apply: please email the following materials in a single PDF file to Dr. Yu
(uolink@gmail.com)
1. A 1-2 page cover letter explaining your previous research experience, the
questions that interest you for future postdoctoral studies, and why you feel
our lab can be a fit for you.
2. A detailed C.V.
3. Names and contact information of three references.
