Applications are invited for Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Associate
Professor (Academic Level B to D) within the School of Computing and
Information Systems (CIS) and Engineering, University of Tasmania
(UTAS), Australia
The closing date for applications is on 23 August 2013.
Founded in 1890, UTAS is the fourth oldest university in Australia and

The School is undergoing re-profiling of its academic staff aimed at
significantly improving the research performance of the School. The
School aspires to achieve research excellence by strengthening key
research activities, exploiting synergies, and by recruiting key
staff, within the broader Open to Talent strategic plan of the
University. CIS has also reviewed and refreshed all of its course
offerings, with new programs to commence in 2014 and 2015
If successful, the incumbent will have responsibilities for research
and teaching. CIS is keen to attract people who have excellent
research track records in ICT. However, the School has identified
strategic priority areas and would favour applicants who can
contribute to these priorities.
Women are particularly encouraged to apply as the University is
seeking to increase the number of women in senior academic positions.
Any appointment subsequently made will be at Academic Level B to D and
will have a total remuneration package of up to AUD$111,499 -
AUD$150,648 per annum (comprising salary within the range AUD$80,824 -
AUD$128,759 plus 17 per cent superannuation, with the option of an
additional 3 per cent salary loading in exchange for 14 per cent
instead of 17 per cent superannuation).
