Roma Midfielder De Rossi Might Move To Inter - Italian Journalist

History could repeat itself as another Roma player is being linked
with a move to Inter...
Over the last two seasons, for economic reasons Roma have twice had
to sell big-name players to Inter, who until this season were often
competing with the Giallorossi for the Scudetto. The capital club
sold defender Cristian Chivu, in 2007, and winger Amantino Mancini
last summer.
The Romanian has become an important player at the club, while
Mancini has been a major flop and looks likely to leave after just
one season.
According to journalist Franco Rossi, there is a chance history
might repeat itself. The Nerazzurri have set their sights on Roma
midfielder Daniele De Rossi, and are willing to spend big to get
him.
"De Rossi is first on [Jose] Mourinho's list," he wrote in his blog
on FrancoRossi.com. "He wants at least three or four top players to
go far in Europe.
"He is not too enthusiastic about [Diego] Milito, as he would have
preferred [Didier] Drogba, and considering that the coach will
certainly stay, [president Massimo Moratti] will certainly have to
buy someone."
Rossi revealed that the partnership between the two clubs' oil
companies makes negotiations easier.
"First Chivu and then Mancini were transferred for a lot of money,"
he continued. "They could have been bought for half the money as
they only had a year left on their contracts. This is because of
the partnership between Moratti's company Saras and the Sensi's
company Italpetroli, which may well continue considering Roma's
economic crisis.
"If Moratti were to make a €40-50 million offer, the negotiations
could end quickly. They absolutely need De Rossi, also because
[John] Obi Mikel, contrary to what many think, is not a free agent
at the end of the season, he signed until 2011, and it's almost
impossible he will come to Inter."
