Birth date: December 21st, 1996 Birth place: Taiwan Current Age: 20 years old Height: 158 cm Nicknames: Macharin(まちゃりん), Ma sir(馬長官), Chia-Ling(嘉伶) English name: Alice Time flies, suddenly, it has been a year since Macharin arrived Japan. In this year, we saw her sparing no effort in learning how to be a good idol. Her smile, her tears, her dance, the happiness you feel when you shake hands with her, are all precious memories that Macharin has brought to us. She is our beloved idol, undoubtedly. Before Ma Chia-Ling joined AKB48, she had failed six times before in different auditions. However, she never gave up her dream of becoming an idol. Ps. Actually, 17 girls were revealed to have completed the audition on August 17,2015. But in the end, only Macharin got the chance to be active in Japan. If Chia-Ling had failed the audition, would she be just as same as us, attending and skipping classes, hanging out with some friends, maybe having a little romance with a cute boy, wondering and planning for the uncertain future? But Chia-Ling did not choose that path. Unlike us, she is now striving for survival in Japan, fighting alone. Her Japanese may not be that good, she may not be the best person to be a idol, her dance is still a little bit awkward, even us and her cannot be sure if she will suddenly be sent back to Taiwan or not. Nevertheless, what we see is Chia-Ling trying so hard to make us happy in every second, every stage, and every moment. We see a young girl giving up her school, only for chasing an uncertain dream in between the concrete jungle of Tokyo. Yes, she may not be the cutest idol in AKB group, and the burden on her shoulder might be something that we can never imagine. But, why we love Chia-Ling so much is because of her unwavering determination toward challenge, why we love her so much is because of her staunch braveness toward difficulties, why we love her so much is because - - she is a courageous Taiwanese, just like you and me.
